GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEM (GIS)
GIS – Geographical Information System provides a platform wherein the spatial and linear locations of the assets are registered in a dynamic manner, thus enabling easy modification and recording of data. The asset attributes recorded in the database are represented visually to assist in further planning and execution of work.
Low-cost mapping-grade GPS units and android mobile-based apps(download link available on Home page) are being used with expected accuracy in real time, thus reducing considerably the need to post process, import, and update the data in the office after fieldwork has been collected.
GIS can be accessed by selecting the district in left pan of this page, is facilitated for citizen use also. This section contains roads and locations of km stones, culverts, bridges, railway crossings, road intersections, RoB/RuB etc. overlaid on Google maps. General information of corresponding feature is attached to it and can be displayed by clicking on it.
